Outcomes for Clients

Fast Track Coaching helps business clients to resolve the following issues:

1. Lack of planning or a poor planning process
Most small businesses do not have an effective business plan that they use as a 'working document' to manage their businesses. Often there is a lack of planning caused by the owner's focus being on the immediate issues in their business, most notably putting out fires and reacting to the most urgent problems. Hence there can be a lack of goal setting and long-term direction in the business.

2. Lack of KPI measurement and management reporting
Every small business must have established Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) against which performance is measured. In addition, benchmarks must be set for these KPIs so that timely management reporting can highlight the deviations from these benchmarks, corrective actions can be taken, and progress towards goals can be measured.

3. Poor communication with clients and staff
Communication with customers of small businesses is often adhoc and not part of a coordinated strategy. Staff also need to have regular two-way communication on the business's KPIs and their own performance.

4. Lack of defined processes/ Ineffective use of resources
Often business operators have not documented their processes or established benchmarks against which performance can be measured. Often the manuals for running the business are kept in the owner's head and are dependent upon the owner making this knowledge available to staff when the owner is not busy.

5. Reluctance to use external expertise
There is a need for specialist 'knowledge resources' to complement the skill set of the owner. Small businesses require a wide range of skills and the owners must ensure they have access to specialists who can assist them with issues where the owner lacks experience or knowledge.

Often the client is making good decisions but likes to have a second opinion to affirm their ideas or to suggest improvements or alternatives.

6. Focus on short term issues
The role of the small business operator can be very reactive to the day-to-day issues in the business. The operator finds that they are really working in the business rather than having the business work for them. They do not have the ability to break out from the mindset of being reactive and responding to almost every problem in the business.

If any of these issues apply to your business then now is the time to engage a business coach. For a free initial consultation click here.
